Like we have Chanakya Neethi, Karma Siddhantha from The Gita or Vedic wisdom, Stoicism is for Romans!!!
I am quite interested in the schools of thoughts for philosophical logics and wisdom. So, Stoicism is my natural interest.
Roman Empire shaped the western world. After colonisations, western world shaped entire globe with few exceptions. So Romans somewhere influenced all of us. Romans were not so good people. They were evil, they used slavery for their empire quite extensively. They were cruel and sly in everyday life either directly or in subtle.
They are also credited with so many things which are part of our lifestyle. Running water supply in the stone canals or ducts, Roads across empire to connect every town, Pebbled roads with maps and symbols that lasted 2000 years (still exist), modern masonry (not modern for now), trained army with professional combat gears and weapons, advanced war strategies, economies, export and import and perhaps many more. The ruins of Pompei appear like any old town in Europe is all the living proof that other than consumerism and technology, nothing has really changed.
A lot has been written about Stoicism, but in an organized society like Romans it was like a manifesto for formal interactions and personal mental make-up. Like many things relevant and practiced from Roman times to todays date, stoic wisdom convinces you if you apply to context.
Well, for each point of stoic wisdom, just browse or ask AI. Contents in social media platforms are flooded..
