Neighbors at war - Lockdown time

Jesus, they say, said 'love thy neighbor'. ...HE is son of GOD so, he could. For normal people with normal emotions and normal difficulties and normal or below normal temperaments, loving their neighbor is like starting with a spiritual awakening. Its not going to be easy. 

Neighbors, we wish and pray that should be helpful only when we seek, shouldn't be nosy, shouldn't be noisy, shouldn't be curious, shouldn't be (NEVER EVER PLEASE) jealousy. ..Shouldn't be aggressive, shouldn't be encroachers, shouldn't be stalkers, shouldn't be ...list is long..

I used live in an old BDA colony in Chandra Layout, which used to be a humble place of dream location for Mangaloreans (because of proximity to Mangalore highway), retired teachers and clerks from places all over Karnataka. Unlike strictly vegetarian demography's of Jayanagar or Basavangudi, this area had simplicity, humbleness and little spiciness of Coastal restaurants for Mangalorean restau-preneurs. Well, as years passed by, area gets more crowded and humble single floor houses grew tall as much as up to 5 with their new owners and the problems grew 5 fold too. 

Things get dearer when they are scarce or rare.. yes? I always wished and day dreamt that all my neighbors should be so rich that I don't get noticed when a new TV or Fridge delivered at my door step, nobody gets curious when an average car of price range much below BMW/MERC gets parked near my gate, nobody counts how many times pizza delivery boy bells my door in a week, how many packages per day flipkart, amazon delivery boys drop in, how many times airport taxi has a pick up. ...well...

All until a millionaire buys a 4 storey house that was newly built, sharing my compound.  Bangalore is a millionaire hub. When the house was built we had normal troubles of noise and dust for 10 months. It was ready in no time. Now genie granted a millionaire neighbor and opening an altogether different experience. As such new neighbor and I are equals. He is multi millionaire by global standard currency like pound and I, that of single local currency. That is only and a galaxy of difference. The new guy rents an adjacent house on the lane and changes every standard of the lane. Domestic help raises her charges, flower, prices at vegetable cart, electrician/plumber charges, even so, pizza delivery boys expectation of tips..yea..now 5 storey tall...

The new house was just envy of few and new guy goes on a demolition drive to 'customize' as per his standards. The stylish wooden works gets dumped in no time... walls and windows under concrete cutting machine... the TRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr. GRRRRRRRrrrrrr... STREEEEEMmmmm.. sounds were full of my ears and head making me and better half dumb and deaf. We spoke in sign language and wahtsapp living in the same house.. our house was full of concrete dust and soon they filled our lungs..In the meanwhile I had several battles with mason, laborer, carpenter, plumbers over dust, noise, wreckage of walls, encroachment of my terrace.. and at every BHHOOOM...I ran to see my compound behind... it looked like a fresh bomb blast debris... and at every instance of my calls to HOYSALA (POLICE), they promptly arrived to collect penalty...

2 years pass by... several change of plans ...in between concrete cutting machines don't stop..so do my complaints.. I try to reach the owner. His driver of a BMW (top end version) arrives, dressed up in a neatly cut safari suit and a latest version of mobile phone in his hands (I guess the price... more than that of mine.. ) gives the same excuse in few shorts words and vanishes at the same speed. The rich guy is SO busy that he arrives by late night and leaves by dawn..and no one has seen him picking his newspaper by the gate... and I don't give up my effort to confront him face to face..

Time passes by and world welcomes corona and gets locked up inside...and so do I. TRRRRs/GRRRRS/STREEMs/BHOOMs dont stop.. in fact numbs my family's brain. No work from home, no con call, in fact no calls from the house and we seek who could we go to and stay with.. Well.. people feared corona may transfer by phone..they unwelcome phone calls, they unwelcome people.. they welcome only hand sanitizers and masks.. When there was news of corona death tolls and of hospitals bills surpassing that of 1 or 2 cancer patients', nobody is empathizing our agonies and woes of dust and noise...expected is that free advise for a sample..."it is expected you see.. for a short while .. just be a good neighbor.. when the 5 storeys get ready..just see the land value..your networth goes up.."

After celebrating 3rd anniversary of noise and dust, my better half and I, decided to quarantine ourselves from dust and noise, went on relocation drive...trying to love, the neighborhood once was humble and simple, this time distantly... like rest of the world.. staying at far away home.

I remotely praying that all millionaires who think of this area... "Please EXIT"...

Strong will - miracle man

Lance Nayak Hanumanthappa Koppad ...quite a few sites open in google if you key in this name. He is Karnataka's pride, army's miracle man and a brave heart.
Indias defence forces are previledged to undergo highest standard of HR training... in every aspect..not only combat techniques.. I have always dreampt of making it available for general public.. those who quit defence after mandatory ten years service also dont share it.. or i dont see it... these skills are highly useful for academic and corporate world..but they are not commercially available. It is a big loss to the industry and society.
Defence research is in every area. But there are so many things that can be socially or commercially relevant. Unfortunately it is not on the access to commons.
I hope someone thinks about it. We may win some more medals in olympics, we may produce some best statesmen, leaders and change agents of society...
I have observed that one idea,thought or phylosophy generates at same time at multiple corners of the world and reaches the masses.. i wish this wish of mine comes alive.. mirrorring my thought, getting to reality... reaching the masses,.. amen!

Adi Shankara - Soundarya Lahari

Respectful prayer to Adi Shankara ...it touches my heart each time I recite this prayer and makes me surrender!!


This can be understood by only those who have read creations of Adi Shankara and the beauty and complexity of language in his creations..!
Here is Soundarya Lahari!!! In the normal reading it looks like any 'shloka' prayer for recital. For someone with comprehension of Sanskrit, it opens a world of imagination!! It has a secret knowledge in it. It can'be decoded easily.


1. Totally 100 verses
2. Each verse has 4 lines
3.Each line in each verse has 17 alphabets or sounds
4. Like any other Mantra, we can not find 'beejah' (essence), 'shakthi' (power), 'keelakam' (key- entry point). All 100 verses are all of that.
5. Each line is challenge to read with complex connected words.
6. On the 44th verse, we can find the name - Soundary Lahari!!
7. Numbers mentioned ..especially in verses 11 and 14..
      Chatush chantwarishath vasudalakalashratrivalaya
      Trirekhabhih Sardham Tava Sharana Konah Parinatah!!
---- 44 earth like planets in 3 clusters
----- Divided triange in exact half creating perfect angles!!!
     This geometry sounds like SriChakra in mandala or like explanation of space!!?!  .. I am still studying to find the meaning!


A perfect reading of Soundarya Lahari is possible only after several recitals. But the beauty is in visualizing the meaning of verses. If reading without mistake needs so much for normal people.. what is the measurement of knowledge for one who created it!!??

Organ Donation - My inspiration

His name was Harish Nanjappa. I know him by reading on newspaper only. But this story inspired me!!!
Hebbal flyover in Bangalore has been witness to quite dangerous accidents. But his one is probably most eeriest of them all.

That morning at 7 AM, I was reading Times of India. There was a news of an accident in Hebbal Flyover. But what was different in this story is the last 20 minutes before death, what victim of this accident was doing. As per the news report his bike was hit by a truck. By the impact of that accident  his body was cut into 2 pieces. He was wearing helmet. As the gathered people around the accident area watched the occrence and some may have been busy with capturing video and photoes to share in Whatsapp, this man showed the practicality which most of us can not even imagine! So much is the power of his will and sense of realistic and practival thinking.

He is said to have shared the phone number to be contacted, name of the person and a last message that his eyes to be donated!!! His body is said to have cut into 2 pieces but will is so strong to think what should be most relevant at that point in time.. He probably realized he was dying, he cared to make this information known to his people, he pleaded his eyes to be donated.!!!

He was a brave heart...Much more than that, he exhibited a strong will at the deathbed what really made sense at the last 20 minutes of his life! Leave alone the pain that he would have been undergoing!! His sense of purpose and practicality is beyond my imagination. He is a hero.

Dissecting Nirguna Definition

In the shlokas or Bhagavadgita or Lalita Sahasranamam we can often find mention of 'trigunas'. Now I will go in details about this. Guna in Sanskrit means trait. There are three. Sathva (truth, honesty, softness), Rajas (ego, power, aggression, manipulation, tact) and Tamas (evil, cruelty, horror).

Amongst the three, 'Sathva'or 'Sathya' is most revered!!! Our national symbol endorses 'Sathyam eva jayathe' (!!!!???)

In the mythical texts and verses we often find that GOD defined as Nirguna. That means GOD has none of the 'gunas' or  has all the three!!! The Goddess is defined as 'guna ateeta' and 'nirguna' and 'thriguna athmika'. Meaning Goddess is beyond these three traits, she is not attached to three traits and she contains these three traits..!!! Complicated isn't it? As we normally perceive, sathva is most favored guna of the God, verses should have called GOD as Sathva Guna Bhagavan! It is not so.

Guna's are 3 kinds of energies and they formed along with nature. These are tools of supernatural power and managed with balance and equilibrium of all the three!

Our general understanding is 'truth prevails in the end'!. It is not true. Who has seen the end? When one guna revers to its extreme, it becomes its own weakness and gets killed by other Gunas!!! For example: Let us take sathva. If extremity of sathva, without tact makes it too mild/weak and it easily gets manipulated by Rajas and Tamas. ex: harmless, nonaggressive deers get killed by Tiger (aggression and tact).

ex Rajas: When extremity of ego, aggression and manipulation reaches, it gets declined with a smallest weak link. ex: A small wound on tiger gets infected by flies and it dies a long, painful journey to death. 

So extremity of any guna leads to its own death or downfall. But gunas never die. They only get subdued. Thats why our verses defined God as Nirguna Bhagavan! Therefore, the learning for humans is to not to allow the development of any guna to its extremity!!!! So no guna is superior or inferior. The growth of a guna to its extreme makes it more weak than strong!!!

Creator of these tools (gunas) is not the tool himself, not attached to them, he contains them and uses when needed. Hence the definition of nirguna, thrigunatmika and guna ateeta!

Nirakara, Nispruha, Nirguna Ithi Bhagavantah!.. God is shapeless, detached and a-trait!

Get your wishes granted!

Do you have some die hard wishes? Highly desirable dreams? Are you able to do something to achieve them? Are you already doing some efforts towards it? If your answer is 'yes' for all of these then try this to realize them faster..

Look around you, what people are struggling for, what could be their dreams..wishes.. if you know at least some, analyze if these wishes are honest, fair and legitimate. If your judgement does ok, sincerely pray for their grant with no jealousy.

If you did that, you will notice that your honest, fair and legitimate dreams getting realized faster with negative energies getting subdued gradually..!!!

Mantra Pushpam - Praise of Nature!!!

Yopam pushpam Veda...!! Pushpavan prajavan pashuman bhavathi..!
Agnirva apahm ayatanam...!
Vayurva apahm ayatanam..!
Aapohvai vayo rayatanam..!
Yah evam veda..! yo upam ayatanam veda...ayatanavan bhavathi!!!

Agni (fire), Vayu(gases/air), Aapah (water), Pathah (motion/movement), Chandramasah (planet), parjanya(particle cloud),
nakshathra (star), samathsara (time)

My husband sent me an audio clip of Mantrapushpam recently. It was circulating in whatsapp groups.
It triggered an interest in me to write about it in this blog. Because I would have heard mantrapushpam over 100 times since I was young. Every Vedik puja at home concluded with it. Thanks to whatsapp... It is reaching those who could not otherwise heard it..!

When you hear this chanting it creates some kind of vibration. For a neutral mind, it is positive vibration. I dont know otherwise. This mantra has no GOD's reference. It simply praises the nature and nature's elements. If it has no religious reference, why do we conclude Vedik rituals with this? For creating positive vibrations!!! It also says, the one who knows (yah evam veda), upam ayatanam (this knowledge?) veda (knows), acquires that ..Knowledge( ayatanavan bhavathi).!!!

So, what is that knowledge? It is about elements of universe. Here is my interpretation of Mantrapushpam..!
Fire creates gas(air?), from gas the water, from water the movement (magnetic field?), from movement the particles, from particles the planet and stars, and these consistent changes create definition of time..(change creates concept of time)!!We also know that water and movements created life.

Now it also says, one who knows this acquires knowledge.! What is that knowledge? How universe is created? In my interpretation, what one knows, s/he can influence it and manipulate it.. or takeover it!
So if I  know how to create massive fire, it creates a big bang, water, gases, collision of particles, attracted particles become planets, due to their weight they start slowly moving (circulating) creating a galaxy..!!!??? If I created it, I own it..!!!

Well,, mantrapushpam compares universe to lotus. Lotus is multi layered, has a centre and connected to centre with support of a stem and it floats on the water..! I could not connect similarity of universe to lotus.
I recall a budhist chant.. Aum mani padme aham! .... I am the lotus..! If universe is like lotus....I am a small part of that universe...a part of infinite energy..So is everything.. every one..a part of energy!..
Feels intriguing, isn't it?
